The Gift of Years: Growing Older Gracefully
A seven-week online book club starting January 21, 2025
“The Gift of Years” speaks truth about aging, and offers thought-provoking meditations on important dimensions of growing older gracefully. Join fellow companions in life and journey together in this interactive book club, whether you are companioning someone whose abilities are impacted by aging, finding your own unexpected challenges with aging, desiring to create purposeful fullness in the second half of your life, or anticipating retirement.
Author Joan Chittister invites us to embrace older age as a natural part of life that is both active and contemplative, productive and reflective, and deeply rewarding. She encourages us to pay attention to the blessings and burdens of growing older and find grace to be fully alive on the path to aging. Facilitator will be Peg Ruetten.
Please purchase the book ahead of time and be prepared to discuss Chapter 1 during the first session of the club on Tues., January 21.
NOTE: There are several versions of this book. We will be discussing from the version published in 2010 by Blue Bridge Publishing. See below for a photo of the book cover. It is available at Target, Barnes & Noble, Amazon and other booksellers.
